Holmfirth Civic Hall
Holmfirth Civic Hall has been at the centre of Holmfirth for many years. It is an important building and home to many festivals, events and community activities. The Hall is under threat of closure but we want to help it stay open and thrive.
Not for profit organisation Holmfirth Civic Hall Ltd. has been established very recently to look at the feasibility of taking over Holmfirth Civic Hall from Kirklees Council. Working in collaboration with other community groups, we hope to save Holmfirth Civic Hall from closure.
Drawing on successful community projects across the Country, we have developed lots of ideas for the Hall ranging from live streaming of cultural events, wedding fayres and festivals to office space for local businesses etc. whilst retaining current usage.
Our vision is to transform Holmfirth Civic Hall into a hive of activity run by local people for local people, the wider community and beyond. But the new Civic Hall needs to be sustainable, i.e. it has to pay its way. We need to know what services and activities you would want and support! We really need your help with this. Our survey questionnaire will be available soon.
